Strategic Equality Plan 2024/2028

This item was considered at the Community, Finance and Strategic Leadership Scrutiny Committee on the 18 July 2024.

 

A verbal update was received on the request made by the Scrutiny Committee to indicate on the action plan what department and cabinet member owned each action.  In addition, if the action was linked to or taken from other strategies or plans.  Officers confirmed that the document would be updated to reflect this observation prior to the Draft Strategic Equality Plan being considered by Council in September.

 

The scrutiny committee was supportive of the report subject to the amendment as above.

 

Decisions:

 

1.           That the revised Strategic Equality Plan 2024-2028 (as attached at Appendix 1 to the circulated report) be commended to Council for approval.

 

2.           That the Head of People and Organisational Development be granted delegated authority to make such changes as may be needed to the Strategic Equality Plan prior to publication, provided that such changes do not materially alter the content of the document considered by Council.

 

Reason for Decisions:

 

To meet the statutory requirements set out in the Equality Act 2010 (Statutory Duties) (Wales) Regulations 2011. 

 

Implementation of Decisions:

 

The decisions will be implemented after the three day call in period.
