It was with great sadness that the Mayor informed Council of the death of ex Councillor Jane Jones and Mr Clive Howells, the former Chief Executive of Lliw Valley Borough Council.

Council stood to observe a minute’s silence.

Sincere congratulations were offered to the local young people who were appointed as cadets to the Lord Lieutenancy, namely:

• Leading Cadet Jessica Flynn, Swansea Sea Cadets

Cadet Sergeant Maddison Chaplin, Gwent and Powys Army Cadets and lives in Seven Sisters

Corporal Mackenzie Bryan, Dyfed and Glamorgan Army Cadets, lives in Cimla, goes to St Joseph’s School

Cadet Flight Sergeant Ioan Osborne, 360 (Llwchwr) Squadron

The Mayor also offered congratulations to Father Paul Bigmore who has been awarded the Freedom of the City of London.
