Minutes:
The
Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Engineering made a statement
in relation to the damage caused by Storm Dennis.
He
again thanked the authority’s staff, other agencies and the emergency services
for their efforts. Council noted details
of the work currently underway in assisting those affected together with
pursing, with other agencies a way forward to reduce the likelihood of this
happening again in the future.
It
was noted that the cost of the clean up to date was in the region of £500k and
that repairs to infrastructures affected had not yet been quantified. Following the announcements by the Welsh
Government’s First Minister, approaches had been made in relation to securing
funding to cover the costs of the emergency work.
