Agenda item

1.    That Members note the progress made on the Corporate Governance improvement work undertaken during 2017/18;

2.    That the Annual Governance Statement 2017/2018, contained as Appendix 1 of the circulated report, subject to the following amendment to Core Principle B, on Page 28 reading “We aim to be a transparent Council”;

3.    That the proposed Corporate Governance improvement work to be undertaken during 2018/2019, be approved.

Decisions:

1.              That Members note the progress made on the Corporate Governance improvement work undertaken during 2017/18;

2.              That the Annual Governance Statement 2017/2018, contained as Appendix 1 of the circulated report, be approved subject to the following amendment to Core Principle B, on Page 28 reading “We aim to be a transparent Council”;

3.              That the proposed Corporate Governance improvement work to be undertaken during 2018/2019, be approved.

Reason for Decisions:

For the Annual Governance Statement 2017/2018 to be published as part of the Council’s Statement of Accounts.

Implementation of Decisions:

The decisions will be implemented after the three day call in period.
