Agenda item

1.    That the Welsh Language Promotion Strategy, contained as Appendix 1 of the circulated report, be put out to Consultation for a four week period, subject to the following amendment to the last sentence on Page 98 reading “Losing this natural endowment would have a huge psychological impact”;

2.    That the Consultation responses be considered by the Welsh Language Promotion Strategy Task and Finish Group with the final Welsh Language Promotion Strategy being submitted to Cabinet for approval.

          Decisions:

1.                  That the Welsh Language Promotion Strategy, as contained in Appendix 1 of the circulated report, be put out to Consultation for a four week period, subject to the following amendment to the last sentence on Page 98 reading “to slow down the decline in numbers and percentages of Welsh speakers.  Losing this natural endowment would have a huge psychological impact on the rest of the County Borough”;

2.                  That the Consultation responses be considered by the Welsh Language Promotion Strategy Task and Finish Group with the final Welsh Language Promotion Strategy being submitted to Cabinet for approval.

Reason for Decisions:

To ensure that Neath Port Talbot complies with the requirements of the Welsh Language Standards Regulations 2015.

Implementation of Decisions:

The decisions will be implemented after the three day call in period.
