Minutes:
The
Director of Environment gave Council a verbal update on the severe adverse
weather conditions expected over the next 48 hours. As a result the Authority’s emergency plans
had been implemented, continuous gritting would under taken with 3,000 tonnes
of salt being available in stock. As a
result of this, a decision had been taken to close all schools in the area on
Thursday 1 March and Friday 2 March. In
addition the main Civic buildings would be closed from noon on 1 March and all
day on 2 March 2018. Measures would be
put in place to ensure the safety of the most vulnerable.
