Members were supportive of the amendment submitted by the Children, Young People and Education Scrutiny Committee prior to this meeting.

Decision:

That the response to the Welsh Government Consultation Document ‘Reform of School Governance: Regulatory Framework’ be submitted to the Welsh Government as detailed in Appendix A to the circulated report subject to the following amendment that the Local Authority disagree with the Welsh Government comment that a minor authority should have a seat on the governing body.

Reason for the Decision:

To enable the Local Authority to submit a formal response to the Welsh Government consultation document “Reform of School Governance: Regulatory Framework.

Implementation of Decision:

That the decision be implemented after the three day call in period.
