Minutes:
Members
considered the report in relation to establishing a Secondary Education Nurture
Centre at Cefn Saeson
Comprehensive School. Members then
raised the following:-
·
Should a pupil be unable to return to mainstream school, where would
that pupil continue his/her education?
Members were advised that admission to the Centre required pupils to
remain on the roll at their base school because the principal focus of support
at the Centre was directed towards a successful reintegration to mainstream
school. However for a small minority
this may not be appropriate. In such
instances alternative in-county provision was available.
·
Clarification was sought on the list of consultees
contained in the circulated report and were advised that these were the
statutory consultees, which included Union
representatives.
Following
scrutiny, the Committee was supportive of the proposals to be considered by
Cabinet.
