Syrian Vulnerable Persons' Relocation Scheme

Decision:

 

 

THIS MATTER IS FOR IMMEDIATE IMPLEMENTATION – THERE IS NO CALL IN OF THIS DECISION

 

1.   That the Director of Social Services, Health and Housing be authorised to make application to the Home Office to secure grant funding to meet the cost of people relocating into the County Borough under the Syrian Vulnerable Persons’ Scheme;

 

2.   That the Director of Social Services, Health and Housing be authorised to enter into necessary contractual and other arrangements to ensure suitable support was available to support people relocating into the County Borough under the

Syrian Vulnerable Persons’ Scheme.

Decisions:

Reason for Decisions:

 

To ensure that the additional costs to the council and its partners of supporting people relocated under the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Scheme are met from the Home Office funds established for that purpose and that services are in place prior to people being relocated into the county borough under the Scheme.

 

Implementation of Decisions:

 

The decisions are for immediate implementation, the Chairman of the Scrutiny Committee agreed to this course of action and there would therefore be no call in of these decisions.
