Decision:

 

That the minutes of the meeting held on 12 September 2019, be approved.

Officer explained there had been a typing error concerning numbers within the makeup of the Council’s Transport Group (as detailed at appendix 1 to the circulated report). The numbers would be amended.

 

Cabinet members were confident that the new appeals procedure would be helpful to families.

 

Decision:

 

That the implementation of a new Home to School Travel Assistance Appeals Procedure, as detailed at Appendix 1 to the circulated report, be approved, subject to the correct numbers relating to the Council’s Transport Group being included.

 

Reason for Decision:

 

To improve the current Home to School Travel Assistance Appeals Procedure.

 

Implementation of Decision:

 

The decision will be implemented after the three day call in period.

Christmas and New Year Opening Times 2019. Libraries, Theatres, Community Centres, Margam Country Park, Leisure Centres and Swimming Pools pdf icon PDF 52 KB

It was noted that traditional Christmas and New Year opening hours had been followed again this year, with the exception of Margam Park, which would benefit from extended opening hours over the Christmas and New Year period, as detailed within the circulated report.

 

Decision:

 

That the Christmas and New Year opening and closing times for Leisure Centres, Swimming Pools, Margam Country Park, Libraries, Museums, Theatres and Community Centres, as detailed within Appendices 1 and 2 to the circulated report, be approved.

 

Reason for Decision:

 

To ensure that the Council’s facilities are available to the public when there is a demand for them to be open and to enable managers to make appropriate arrangements with front line staff over their annual leave.

 

Implementation of Decision:

 

The decision will be implemented after the three day call in period.

Proposed Lease and Service Level Agreement of the Turbine House at Margam Country Park to the Friends of Margam Country Park pdf icon PDF 95 KB

Members felt the new lease would extend the good relationship between the Council and the Friends of Margam Park – it was seen as a positive step forward.

 

Decision:

 

That authorisation in principle be granted to the Friends of Margam Country Park for a 25 year internal repairing lease and service level agreement of the recently renovated Turbine House within Margam Country Park on terms to be agreed by the Head of Property and Regeneration.

 

Reason for Decision:

 

The proposed lease and service level agreement will facilitate the proposed use and a Visitors Reception Centre.

 

Implementation of Decision:

 

The decision will be implemented after the three day call in period.
