Appointment of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson

Minutes:

Agreed that Councillor R.Mizen be appointed Chairperson and that Councillor S.Rahaman be appointed Vice Chairperson for this joint meeting.                

2.

Access to Meetings

To resolve to exclude the public for the following items pursuant to Regulation 4 (3) and (5) of Statutory Instrument 2001 No.2290 and the relevant exempt paragraphs of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972

 

Minutes:

That pursuant to Section 100A (4) and (5) of the Local Government Act 1972 the public be excluded for the following items of business which involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the above Act.

Pontardawe Arts Centre Report

Minutes:

The Joint Committee received details of the proposal to develop a cinema at Pontardawe Arts Centre, and other associated improvements as detailed in the private circulated report.

 

Members discussed the various aspects of the development and were very pleased with the proposal.  It was felt that it would bring positive economic benefit to not just the Pontardawe area but the surrounding areas as well.

 

Following scrutiny, the committee was supportive of the proposals to be considered by the cabinet board.

Margam Park Report (enclosed within the Cabinet Papers)

Minutes:

Members received a presentation and report on the proposal to develop visitor attractions at Margam Country Park as detailed in the private circulated report.

 

Discussion took place on the development of the different visitor attractions.  Members were very pleased with the proposal and felt that it would bring positive economic benefits to the area.

 

Following scrutiny, the committee was supportive of the proposals to be considered by the cabinet board.
