That the Minutes of the previous meeting of Cabinet Scrutiny Committee, held on 27 March, 2019, be approved.

Committee scrutinised the following Cabinet items:

Corporate Plan 2019-2022

Members requested that the presentation that had been prepared in relation to the Corporate Plan 2019-2022 report, be circulated. Members were advised that should they require further clarification on the content to speak to either C.Furlow or N.Sparkes.

Following scrutiny, the committee was supportive of the proposals to be considered by Cabinet.

Poverty Project – Low Income Families Tracker

Members discussed the underspend in the departmental budget (page 141, point 9 to the circulated report), and noted that this was due in part to movement of staff.

Officers explained that additional funding would be available for period poverty from Welsh Government, and that the planned review would highlight whether the Council’s current policies and services were adequate to meet the increasing demand for support services.

Following scrutiny, the committee was supportive of the proposals to be considered by Cabinet.

Review of Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations

Members noted a verbal amendment to the circulated report. NC1 (Blaengwrach, Glynneath West Central Ward, page 164 of the circulated report) should read ‘Vale of Neath Leisure Centre’ instead of ‘Pensioners Hall, Glynneath’.

Following scrutiny, the committee was supportive of the proposals to be considered by Cabinet.

The committee noted the forward work programme for 2018/19.
