Pre Scrutiny Minutes: Committee
scrutinised the following Cabinet items: Annual
Governance Statement 2018-19 The
Committee received the report of the Assistant Chief Executive and Chief
Digital Officer in relation to the above and noted that the Information
Strategy was being reviewed in light of the introduction of General Data Protection
Regulations (GDPR).
Members asked how the Corporate Information System/Performance
Management System would be reviewed and were advised that the targets had been
reviewed but that the mechanism for a broader review would be decided at the
Chair and Vice Chair Forum and could take the form of All Member Seminars or
via the relevant scrutiny committees. Following
scrutiny, the Committee was supportive of the proposals to be considered by
Cabinet. Centre
of Rail Excellence in Wales The
Committee received the report of the Chief Executive seeking authority to enter
into a formal Joint Venture with Welsh Government and Powys County Council in
relation to the above. The
Chief Executive advised Members that a similar report would be considered by
Powys County Council on 9 May, 2019. In
order to scrutinise the private Appendices to the report, it was resolved
as follows:- |

Access to Meetings To
resolve to exclude the public for the following items pursuant to Regulation 4
(3) and (5) of Statutory Instrument 2001 No.2290 and the relevant exempt
paragraphs of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972 Minutes: RESOLVED: that pursuant to Section 100A(4)
and (5) of the Local
Government Act 1972, the public be excluded for the following item of business which involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the above Act. Members then scrutinised the private section of the
report and discussed in particular the regeneration opportunities for the area
including job creation and tourism. -
Committee then resumed into open session – Following
scrutiny, the Committee was supportive of the proposals to be considered by
Cabinet. |
