Appointment of Chairperson

Minutes:

Agreed that Councillor P.A.Rees be appointed Chairperson for the meeting.

The following Members made declarations of interest at the start of the meeting. They had all received dispensations to speak and vote on school matters.

 

Councillor P.A.Rees           Minute Item 6 – Schools Admissions Policy, as he is a Governor at two schools in NPT.

 

Councillor A.R.Lockyer       Minute Item 6 – Schools Admissions Policy, as he is Chair of Governors at Gnoll Primary School and Governor at Castell Nedd.

 

Councillor S.Reynolds        Minute Item 6 – Schools Admissions Policy, as she is a Governor at of YGG Gwaun Cae Gurwen.

 

Councillor R.Mizen              Minute Item 6 – Schools Admissions Policy, as he is a Governor at Cwmavon Primary School and Ysgol Cwm Brombil.

That the proposed 2023/2024 Community Schools Admission Policy, as detailed in the circulated report, be approved for consultation.

 

Reason for Decision:

 

To enable the Council to meet statutory duties and good practice guidelines in respect of the admission of pupils to community schools.

 

Implementation of Decision:

 

The decision will be implemented after the three day call in period.

 

Consultation:

 

This item will be subject to external consultation.

7.

Access to Meetings

To resolve to exclude the public for the following items pursuant to Regulation 4 (3) and (5) of Statutory Instrument 2001 No. 2290 and the relevant exempt paragraphs of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972.

That pursuant to Regulation 4 (3) and (5) of Statutory Instrument 2001 No. 2290, the public be excluded for the following items of business which involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 14 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the Local Government Act 1972.

8.

Family First Commissioning Arrangements

Decision:

 

That having given due regard to the Integrated Impact Assessment, approval be granted for a one year extension to contracts and agreements for services funded through the Families First grant, from April 2022 to March 2023, as detailed in the private, circulated report.

 

Reason for Decision:

 

To ensure that continuity of service is assured for children, young people and families.

 

Implementation of Decision:

 

The decision will be implemented after the three day call in period.
