That the Joint Committee reduce the additional fee for Saturdays to £175 and agree a cap on the number of Saturday services of three, subject to a review in six months time.

Minutes:

Officers gave an overview of the report Fees for Saturday Service at Margam Crematorium

 

Officers explained that there has been an overall steady increase in the service over the years, the latest figures over 2023/24 April – December there had been 23 Saturday Services.

 

Officers asked members do you wish to retain the Saturday charge at the current rate, remove it or do you wish to amend it (increase or decrease it)

 

Resolved: That the Joint Committee reduce the additional fee for Saturdays to £175 and agree a cap on the number of Saturday services of three, subject to a review in six months’ time.

Minutes:

Officers explained that there is an error on the report title, it relates to a report that has been undertaken by the federation of burial and cremation authorities.

 

Officers explained that a report would be brought back to the committee in the next couple of months, this is in relation to Faithful and Gould and to give the committee an update on the types of issues that are considered and will then decide collectively as a committee how to move forward with this.

 

Members asked if they could have an updated report on the schemes of work (refurbishment) that the committee have authorised and approved for the next meeting.

Minutes:

Officers gave an update on the Cremation Figures for July 2023 to December 2023, and highlighted that the figures were more or less the same, apart for July 2023, there were 157 cremations.
