Private Hire Vehicle Licensing PDF 167 KB Minutes: The
Committee was asked to consider a request from Mr. D.W. Jones of “D.W.
Executive Travel”, to grant an exemption to display door signs and a rear back
plate on a proposed private hire vehicle, namely an E Class Mercedes. RESOLVED: that an exemption to display
door signs and a rear back plate on a proposed private hire vehicle, namely an
E Class Mercedes, be approved on the condition that an exemption is granted on
the basis of executive functions only and specifically excluding general private
hire; that delegated
authority be given to the Head of Legal Services and Licensing Manager to grant
a private hire vehicle licence to Mr Jones which will be exempt from displaying
door signs and a back plate. Delegated
authority will be subject to the following conditions being attached to the
licence: 1. The door signs issued by the Council are not required
to be displayed on the vehicle when the vehicle is being used for executive
work; 2. The back plate issued
by the Council shall be secured to the inside of the boot at times when the vehicle
is being used for executive work; 3. If the vehicle is
used for general private hire i.e. any work other than executive work, the door
signs and back plate shall be secured to the locations specified in the
Council's Taxi Licensing Policy. |

Draft Street Trading Policy PDF 84 KB Additional documents: Minutes: Members
were asked to consider adopting the draft Street Trading Policy following the
end of the consultation exercise, for implementation on 1 April, 2018. It
was noted that following the end of the consultation exercise, several
amendments had been made to the draft policy as a result of representations
from the Planning and Environmental Health Department. RESOLVED: that the
Draft Street Trading Policy be adopted, from 1 April, 2018. |

Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licence - Renewal Minutes: The
Committee was asked to consider an application from Mr. Mason for the renewal
of his Hackney Carriage Driver Proprietors Licence, which expired on 3
December, 2017 and was nine hours late being submitted. RESOLVED: that the application to
renew the Hackney Carriage Proprietors Licence, be approved. |

100A(4) and (5) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded for
the following item of business which involved the likely disclosure of exempt
