The Committee was asked to consider the request for a refund following the surrender of a hackney carriage proprietor’s licence.

RESOLVED:       that the refund of £184.12 be granted.

The Committee was asked to consider the request for a refund following the surrender of a hackney carriage proprietor’s licence.

RESOLVED:       that the refund of £76.16 be granted.

Members were provided with an update in respect of an appeal against the decision to refuse to renew a Hackney Carriage Proprietor's licence.

The Registration and Licensing Committee considered an application from Mr Thomas for the renewal of his Hackney Carriage Proprietor's Licence on the 28th April 2017.  After hearing all submissions Members determined that Mr Thomas had not provided exceptional reasons for the delay in renewing his licence and therefore Members refused his application

 At the appeal hearing the Magistrates considered that he did have exceptional reasons for the delay in his application and as a consequence the appeal was upheld.

RESOLVED:      that the report be noted.

RESOLVED:      that pursuant to Section 100A(4) and (5) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded for the following item of business which involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 12 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A to the above Act.

Members were asked to consider an application for a Medical Exemption from the duties specified under the Equality Act 2010 for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Drivers.

RESOLVED:      that the application for a Medical Exemption from the duties specified under the Equality Act 2010 for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Drivers, be approved.
