Members received the circulated report and noted that the Applicant had failed to renew the Hackney Carriage vehicle licence despite being sent a reminder from the Licensing Section. As a consequence of not renewing the vehicle licence the Applicant has had to apply for a new Hackney Carriage vehicle licence and as such the vehicle has to comply with the requirement of the Authority’s Taxi Licensing Policy which states that all new Hackney Carriages are required to be wheelchair accessible. Members determined that there was no reason in this case for not following the Authority’s Taxi Licensing Policy.

RESOLVED:                         That the application be refused, on the grounds that the vehicle does not meet the Authority’s Taxi Licensing Policy, as the vehicle is not wheelchair accessible.
