considered a request from Mrs Fiona Peel, of "Take me to Wales", Woodfield House, Castle Walk, Neath,
who is a prospective private hire operator.
Mrs Peel requested that consideration be given to granting her an
exemption to display door signs and a rear back plate on her private hire
vehicles. RESOLVED: 1. that the door signs issued by the Authority are not required
to be displayed on the vehicle when the vehicle is being used in connection
with the main business of ‘Take me to Wales’; 2.
that the back plate issued by the Authority shall be secured to the
inside of the boot at times when the vehicle is being used in connection with
the main business of ‘Take me to Wales’; 3.
that should the vehicle be used for private hire work, which is not in
connection with the main business of ‘Take me to Wales’, the door signs and
back plate shall be secured to the vehicle in the locations specified in the
Authority’s Taxi Licensing Policy. |

Minutes: To seek approval from members
to extend the scheme of delegated authority for the suspension of hackney
carriage and private hire vehicle driver licences. RESOLVED: 1. that delegated authority be granted to both the Head of Legal
Services and the Licensing Manager, to lift the suspension imposed on a hackney
carriage or private hire vehicle driver licence, where the licence has
previously been suspended for a medical reason; 2.
that the power to lift the suspension be subject to consultation with
the legal adviser and the Chair or Vice Chair of the Committee and that the
matter be reported to the Registration and Licensing Committee. |
