RESOLVED:                 That the minutes of the previous meeting held on the 7 October, 2024, be approved as a true and accurate record.

Access to Meetings

That pursuant to Section 100BA (2) and (7) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded for the following items of business which involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 12 and 15 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A of the above Act.

RESOLVED:                 That pursuant to Section 100BA (2) and (7) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded for the following item of business which involved the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in Paragraph 12 of Part 4 of Schedule 12A of the above Act.

Application for a hackney carriage and private hire driver licence - Case 1

Minutes:

The Licensing Manager provided the Committee with an overview of the private, circulated report.

 

The Applicant was in attendance and addressed the Committee.

 

Decision:

 

That after reviewing the private circulated report, hearing all the parties’ representations and having due regard to the Council’s Taxi Licensing Policy, the Committee agreed that the application be GRANTED. Members agreed to act outside the Policy and consider the application without a certificate of good conduct. The reasons being that the Applicant has provided information about their conduct and actions whilst out of the UK and had made reasonable efforts to obtain a certificate of good conduct.

 

7.

Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licensing - Case 2

Minutes:

 

The Licensing Manager provided the Committee with an overview of the private, circulated report.

 

The Driver was in attendance and addressed the Committee.

 

Decision:

 

That after reviewing the private circulated report, hearing all the parties’ representations, and having due regard to the Councils Taxi Licensing Policy, the Committee agreed that the Driver was not a fit and proper person. Members resolved that the Driver’s Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licence should be REVOKED for “any other reasonable cause” under s.61(1)(b) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, as they no longer considered the Driver to be a fit and proper person.
