discussed in conjunction with the circulated supplement. Members agreed an
additional recommendation which is reflected as Decision No. 4 below.
1.
That point 12 of the Crematorium Regulations, be amended as follows:
Wreaths
and floral tributes etc. brought to the Crematorium shall be placed in the
position indicated or the receptacle(s) provided. No other vases, jars or containers or
artificial flowers are permitted in the Chapels nor within the grounds and if
placed will be removed. Artificial flowers can be placed in the designated area
of the kerbstone memorials. Artificial flowers are not permitted anywhere else
within the crematorium grounds including the chapels. Artificial flowers will
be removed if they are found in the areas where they are not permitted (as detailed at Appendix A
to the circulated report).
2.
That point 6 of the Vase Block Memorial Kerb - Terms and Conditions, be
amended as follows:
The

flowers, bulbs, shrubs, trees etc. are to be planted in the vase block or in
its vicinity and the Crematorium reserves the right to remove any such items
and dispose of them (as detailed at Appendix B to the circulated report).
3.
That all other parts of the relevant regulations remain as they are at
present, and that artificial flowers are still not permitted on the lawns or
the chapel areas for the reasons stated in the circulated report.

That funeral directors include, within their contracts for families,
that artificial flowers are to be removed once they become dishevelled.
